About Us
About our company
The Ghana Chambers of Young Farmers (also known as Akuafoo) is a vibrant organization established in 2020 to unite and empower rural youth across Ghana through sustainable agriculture. Akuafoo focuses on enhancing profitability, promoting eco-friendly practices, and creating a transparent agricultural ecosystem by leveraging innovation, collaboration, and cutting-edge technology. Dedicated to improving the livelihoods of young farmers, the organization drives sustainable development and contributes to food security.
Agriculture is the backbone of Ghana’s economy, employing nearly 40% of the population, with over 70% being smallholder farmers in rural areas. These farmers play a pivotal role in food production but face challenges such as limited access to resources, markets, and modern techniques.
Globally, agriculture is shifting towards sustainability, innovation, and climate resilience. Akuafoo aligns with these trends by equipping rural youth with the tools and knowledge to adopt modern agricultural practices and integrate into global value chains. Akuafoo contributes to transforming Ghana’s agricultural sector into a competitive and sustainable industry through these efforts.
Our Mission
To empower rural youth in agriculture by fostering collaboration, providing access to essential resources, and promoting sustainable farming practices that ensure food security and environmental protection.
Our Vision
To become a leading agricultural organization in Ghana and beyond, driving sustainable development and improving the livelihoods of rural youth engaged in smallholder farming.
